Hey :) I want to show you the lyrics of a french song that I have translated for you. The name of the song is Secondaire (it means High School) by the Quebec band Loco Locass. This is my favorite band and this song is one of my favorite for her meaning and her inspiring lyrics. I hope you will like it!

High School

Some time ago,
After my last move,
I looked through my yearbook
I saw little bums trying to define themselves
Like shining sketchs of hope
We all had ugly hairstyles
But sincere smiles
Do you remember this time?
It did not start very well

The first day of high school,
During the lunchtime
As an initiation
A moron dropped my pants
To my ankles
Before the girls
Who saw that I was not a stallion
It did not take long for them to ignore me
I looked like a peasant before a king
My first impression, my entry,
I wasn't really cool, I had failed everything
Because of the cotton boxers

My high school
It would be 5 years of ordeal, single
Since this time, I swear
Every day, I put my belt

5 years of hell in high school
We should not worry, it's ephemeral
But as Mister Moliere said,
What were we doing in this galley?
For those who think the soup is bitter
The dessert will be sweeter
Finally, my dear brothers and sisters,
High school is secondary

High School for me was the crossing of the desert
Desire was green but I didn't know how to do
I was clumsy, I was uncomfortable
It was unhealthy, my soul was hurting
But I don't blame those who didn't like me
Look, I was really gawky
Not bastard or asocial
But a very ordinary boy

With my mustache of duvet
And my little pimples on the forehead
I had to walk along the lockers and keep the eyes down
Because I didn't accept to be me
I had to show off to impress the girls
I did breakdance
It worked more or less…
more less than more, less more than less
Do you know what I mean?

You already know that I was the best in french class,
But what was the use
If I can't even tell someone ''Hello''?
To be a genius at school, it doesn't help you to have fun
There was not a class for social life
I was a duffer with people

5 years of hell in high school
We should not worry, it's ephemeral
But as Mister Moliere said,
What were we doing in this galley?
For those who think the soup is bitter
The dessert will be sweeter
Finally, my dear brothers and sisters,
High school is secondary

Over the pages, I see again all those faces
This is my youth that I stare to
What happened to these young people?
Who is in homeless? Who is missing?
I have surely seen them but I did not recognize them
Some have gone further but did not return
Some have began with difficulty but succeeded

Next to my picture, each of my friends
wrote me a note
''Good luck in university, good luck in your life,
you will always be my best friend''
''Hi, you didn't give your place
it would be nice to meet again''
''I love what you write, you should publish,
p.s. I was always looking at you in chemistry class''

I vaguely remember this Vietnamese
Always in his own corner, discrete, smiling
I never talked to him in 5 years
but this guy was amazing
He took 6 months to learn our language
I should have understand and broke the ice
Of isolation of the new immigrants
He didn't find someone to write about him
So he himself signed the note that describes him
He had no friends except his sister
He was a roch through our sieve

5 years of hell in high school
We should not worry, it's ephemeral
But as Mister Moliere said,
What were we doing in this galley?
For those who think the soup is bitter
The dessert will be sweeter
Finally, my dear brothers and sisters,
High school is secondary

5 years of hell in high school
We should not worry, it's ephemeral
But as Mister Moliere said,
What were we doing in this galley?
For those who think the soup is bitter
The dessert will be sweeter
Finally, my dear brothers and sisters,
High school is secondary
